What is a Trademark
A Trademark is a sign that distinguishes goods and services from those of competitors. It can consist of words, logos or a combination of both and are often used as a marketing tool to recognise products or services.
The vast majority of goods and services are covered by 'ordinary' trademarks. These marks function to indicate the trade origin - they link the owner of the mark to the goods or services, and the goods or services to the owner.
How long do they last
A Trademark remains in force indefinitely just as long as the Trademark is renewed every 10 years.
